Depression and anxiety disorders are different, but these two disorders are often experienced together. People may experience symptoms such as nervousness, irritability, and problems sleeping and concentrating.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) affects about 2% of the population, and is defined as symptoms of excessive thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviours (compulsions). These compulsions may be physical or mental (Pure Obsessional).
Bipolar Disorder is associated with episodes of extreme mood swings ranging from depressive lows, to manic highs where individuals can feel very active and euphoric.
Schizophrenia causes those suffering to have an altered experience of reality. It affects thoughts, perceptions and behavior. Symptoms may include visual and/or auditory hallucinations, paranoia, and reduced interactions with others.
